Who is David?
The restaurant takes its name from the original proprietors David Wilson & David Humpston who established it 2000

Do you cater for children?
While we all love a children it’s nice to have some adult time, we don’t refuse children but we would ask that you consider if your children would be happy in our restaurant environment.
We’d suggest a minimum age of 10 years during dinner particularly, however as all kids are different we have to trust the parents.

We don’t have a dedicated children’s menu but we find most children happily enjoy our freshly breaded chicken goujons with fresh vegetables and mash or chips followed by homemade ice cream.

How often do you change the menu?
We have Seasonal Menus:
Autumn (September –November)
Christmas menu runs from end of November until Xmas eve
Winter (January – March)
Spring/Summer (April – August)
These seasonal changes fall in line quite nicely with our annual closures.

Do you cater for dietary needs?
Food we prepare may contain the Food Standards Agency top 14 Allergens

With advance notice we have successfully catered for a variety of dietary needs

Have you got disabled access?
Due to the nature of our building we don’t have disabled access or facilities.

Do you have parking?
Yes we have a Car park access via Brunswick Street next to Robson Mobility Scooters

How far are you from the train station?
We are located a mere 350 yards from the train station

Do we have to book?
We would recommend booking but it’s not always essential with our new reservation system we do have live availability so you can check first.

Do I need to pay a deposit?
We require a deposit of £10 per person for parties of 7 or more

Do we need to pre order?
If you have book a party of 7 or more we do ask for meal choices 48 hrs in advance.

What is the maximum capacity?
Our total capacity is 52
Private dining room on lower ground floor = 12
Front Dining Room up to 16 maximum
Back Dining Room up to 24 maximum

What’s the dress code?
If you wanted to label it Smart Casual however we don’t stand on ceremony.

When are your annual holiday closures?
1 week April
2 weeks August
2 weeks over Christmas & New Year

Last orders and closing times?
Lunchtime 1.30pm close 3.30pm
Dinner 9pm close 11pm

Do you open on Sundays or Mondays for private functions?
