Chris Austin trained at Carlisle College for 2 years. During this time he began to work part time in a former busy city centre café. After a couple of years he secured a chef de partie role at Crosby Lodge country house hotel where he trained under their former head chef James Sedgwick for 5 years before progressing to be Head Chef at Davids.
Chris met his future wife Emily while working at the hotel – a true love story; they were married in 2003 at Lanercost Priory and have one daughter.
Chris and Emily continue to run Davids restaurant to this day and strive to make sure that it continues to be one of the top places to eat in the Carlisle area.
